Boubacar Nassere
Boubacar Nassere (1971-2020), lived and worked in Ouagadougou.
Boubacar, who had long worked with Face-o-Scéno as a professional set designer, began painting in 2008 to explore complex spaces that he had not been able to develop in his set design assignments.
His works can be summarised as follows: living spaces and exchanges, labyrinthine cities, more symbolic than real, in which man seeks his place, his reason for being, his path and his voice. His interest in Cubism leads him to build highly geometrical compositions - a geometry that he also often uses in his work as a stage designer or in installations, most recently at the Carrefour des Arts Plastiques at the Joseph Ki Zerbo University with Pierre Garel.
